Firm scores $2.8 million judgment in wage theft case against Midas franchisee

November 8, 2019 – Napa County Superior Court Judge Victoria Wood today entered a $2.8 million judgment against CRC Luxury Motors, LLC and its owners in a class case brought by the firm on behalf of about 170 former employees working at the Midas automotive service stores in Napa, Petaluma, and Vacaville, California. The case arose from rampant wage theft and other Labor Code violations stemming from the Midas franchise’s practices of altering time records to avoid paying overtime, failing to provide meal and rest breaks, failing to pay premium pay for missed meal and rest breaks, and failing to reimburse technicians (a/k/a mechanics) for their tools. The judgment resulted in recovery of 100% of the relief the firm sought on behalf of its client and the class. Further proceedings in the matter are pending. Firm attorney Brian Conlon led the case for the class.
