Firm files suit for members of SUPERTRAMP in royalty row

July 9, 2021 – Firm partner David Given and associate Robert Carroll today filed a complaint in the Los Angeles County Superior Court for three members of the legendary progressive-rock act SUPERTRAMP over song royalties they say they are owed by the band’s two songwriters, Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies. At its height, Supertramp was one of the biggest touring acts in the world. During that same period, the band released six multi-platinum albums, including 1979’s iconic Breakfast in America. In their complaint, band members Dougie Thomson (bass), Bob Siebenberg (drums) and John Helliwell (saxophone, keyboards and backing vocals) claim that Messrs. Hodgson and Davies conspired to freeze them out of song royalties promised them on the band’s six biggest albums. The court assigned the Honorable Rupert Byrdsong to hear the matter. Further proceedings before Judge Byrdsong are pending.
